Philadelphia hip-hop choreographer and founder of Rennie Harris Puremovement (1992). The first to bring a full hip-hop company to opera-house stages without diluting the form. Rome and Jewels — his 2000 retelling of Romeo and Juliet through Philadelphia b-boy and rocking — is a touchstone for the concert-stage side of hip-hop dance.
