Mecca's parents came from Accra in the '90s, and you can hear azonto in his footwork — the same hip-snap and ankle break that made West African dance language travel. He's the bridge between the Caribbean and African diaspora and the homegrown Brooklyn drill bounce. Teaches in two languages on purpose.
