The dance gets a name: sturdy

There's no single moment you can point to. By spring 2023 the dance had picked up a name in the comments sections — sturdy — and the name stuck. The why is debated. Some say it's how the movement looks (rooted, not falling). Some say it's the compliment the older dancers used for younger ones who could hold the lean. Whatever the origin, by mid-2023 every dancer in the scene was saying sturdy when they meant the dance. The name closed the loop on what had been an unnamed practice for almost five years.
