Camille A. Brown named MacArthur Fellow

Camille A. Brown was named a MacArthur Fellow in October 2022 — the so-called Genius grant. The award cited her company's twenty-year practice of building work from Black social-dance roots and her teaching presence on Broadway and at company class. The award lands the funding for a generation of dancers to study her vocabulary without paying for it themselves.
